How to get rid of an ingrown hair fast

An ingrown hair curves back into the skin instead of growing out through the follicle. It may cause a small tender bump, redness, itching, or a visible trapped hair after shaving, waxing, or tweezing. Curly or coarse hair and close shaving can make recurrence more likely.

Some bumps that look like ingrown hairs are folliculitis, razor bumps, or keratosis pilaris. Pus, increasing warmth, or spreading redness can indicate inflammation or infection rather than a simple trapped hair.
