How to reduce eye wrinkles

Repeated smiling or squinting can make expression lines more visible. Sun exposure breaks down supportive skin structures and can add uneven tone and rough texture; this pattern is often called Sun-Damaged Skin. Dryness may make fine lines stand out, while gradual volume change can deepen folds.

Crow's Feet are lines at the outer corners. Lines that appear mainly with facial movement differ from etched lines visible at rest, so the examination should consider both skin surface and muscle activity.

Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen around, but not inside, the eye area, wear sunglasses, and use a non-irritating moisturiser. Avoid smoking and repeated rubbing. Introduce active skin products cautiously because eyelid skin can become irritated; a clinician can advise on suitable ingredients.

Botox may soften selected movement-related lines by reducing targeted muscle activity. Dermal Fillers may be discussed for carefully selected volume loss, but they are not designed for every wrinkle. Texture-focused procedures may be considered after assessing skin sensitivity and expectations.

Wrinkles alone are usually a cosmetic concern, but seek medical review for a new eyelid lesion, persistent scaling, bleeding, a sore that does not heal, marked swelling, pain, or a change affecting vision. Sudden facial weakness needs urgent assessment.

Ask whether movement, texture, pigment, or volume is the main contributor; which products are safe near your eyes; and what recovery, maintenance, and warning signs apply to a proposed treatment.
