What should you know about follicular unit hair grafts?

A follicular unit may contain one or several hairs with supporting tissue. During transplantation, grafts are taken from a donor region, prepared, and placed into recipient sites designed around the hairline or areas of reduced density. The result depends on the cause of loss, the quality and amount of donor hair, scalp health, and how the plan protects future appearance.

Androgenetic Alopecia, Female Pattern Hair Loss, and Traction Alopecia can have different patterns and management needs. Bald Patches or a Receding Hairline may need diagnosis before a graft plan is considered.

Start with a consultation that reviews the diagnosis, scalp examination, donor area, hair texture, family pattern, and expectations.
