What should you know about multiple fibroadenomas?

Multiple fibroadenomas are several benign breast lumps that require assessment so each lump can be understood and followed. They may occur in one breast or both, and each lump can have a different size or feel. Finding several lumps does not establish their cause by touch alone.

Fibroadenomas are made from glandular and supporting breast tissue. Multiple lumps can be noticed at the same time or at different points. Hormonal changes may affect tenderness or size. A clinician may map the position of each lump and compare examination findings with imaging, because one lump can be typical while another needs a closer look.

Bring a simple record of where each lump is located and when it was noticed.
