What should you know about erythrasma in groin?

Groin erythrasma may produce a well-defined red-brown or pink patch in the crease, with fine scale, mild itch, burning, or an odour. The skin can become more irritated where thighs rub or sweat remains trapped. Fungal infection, eczema, intertrigo, and contact reactions can have similar features, so the appearance alone cannot identify the cause. A clinician may inspect the border and surface or use a bedside test before choosing treatment.

Wash with lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser, then pat the crease fully dry. Wear breathable underwear, change after sweating, and avoid tight garments while the skin is inflamed.
