What should you know about erythrasma caused by?

Corynebacterium can live on normal skin without causing trouble. When a fold remains humid and the skin barrier is softened or rubbed, the bacteria can multiply on the surface. Common settings include the armpits, groin, between toes, and under overlapping skin. Hot weather, heavy sweating, tight clothing, and limited airflow may contribute. Diabetes, excess skin moisture, and a weakened immune system can also make recurrence more likely, but erythrasma can occur without any of these factors.
