Easy way to remove skin tags

Skin tags, also called acrochordons, are usually soft growths connected to the skin by a stalk or broad base. Friction in the neck, underarm, groin, or eyelid area can make them annoying. Appearance alone cannot reliably confirm that every small growth is a skin tag.

A clinician can examine the surface and attachment before choosing removal. Attempting to cut or burn it at home may create a wound while leaving the underlying diagnosis uncertain.

For a confirmed tag, options may include snip removal, freezing with cryotherapy, or controlled heat with electrosurgery. The clinician considers the site, size, base, skin tone, tendency to scar, and whether the lesion should be sent for examination.

Until review, reduce friction with comfortable clothing and avoid twisting the growth. After removal, follow wound-care advice and do not pull at a scab. Contact the clinic if pain, redness, or discharge is worsening rather than settling.

Have a changing, firm, irregular, dark, bleeding, or persistently painful growth checked before any cosmetic removal. Prompt review is also sensible if it repeatedly catches and tears. Ongoing bleeding after gentle pressure needs medical attention.

Ask which method best protects the surrounding skin, what healing usually looks like at that site, whether a sample is needed, and how to reduce friction while it heals. Tell the clinician if you form keloid or raised scars.
