Early Cradle Cap: What to Know

Cradle cap is infantile seborrheic dermatitis. It may look like yellow, white, or brown scales that cling to the scalp, sometimes with mild redness. It can extend to the eyebrows, behind the ears, or skin folds. Most babies are not bothered by it, although rubbing, cracking, or a different rash can cause discomfort.
