Remedy for a nosebleed in dry air

Short answer
For a dry-air nosebleed, sit forward, pinch the soft nose continuously and avoid picking or forceful blowing afterward.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

Why dry air causes bleeding
Low humidity can dry and crack the fragile lining near the front of the nose. Scratching, rubbing, forceful blowing, a cold, allergies or nasal sprays may then disturb small surface blood vessels. Most brief nosebleeds start in this front area and stop with firm pressure. A nosebleed is a symptom, not a diagnosis; repeated episodes can also be associated with nasal inflammation, sinus problems, high blood pressure or medicines that affect clotting.
First aid and prevention
Sit upright and lean slightly forward so blood does not run into your throat. Breathe through your mouth and pinch the soft part of the nose firmly without checking repeatedly. Once bleeding stops, keep the nose quiet for several hours: avoid picking, heavy exertion, hot drinks and forceful blowing. A humidifier, saline spray or a clinician-recommended nasal moisturiser may reduce dryness. Keep fingernails short and treat sneezing gently. Do not tilt your head back or pack the nose with tissue.
When to seek help
Seek urgent care if bleeding is heavy, follows a significant injury, causes faintness or breathing difficulty, or does not stop after sustained correct pressure. Get medical advice for frequent episodes, bleeding from elsewhere, easy bruising, or use of blood-thinning medicine. A clinician can examine the nose and review blood pressure and medicines. Call emergency services if the person becomes very weak, confused or difficult to wake.
What to discuss
Mention which nostril bleeds, how often it happens, the indoor air conditions, nasal sprays and all medicines. Ask whether saline care is suitable, whether the lining needs examination, and which symptoms should trigger same-day assessment.

Questions people ask
Should I tilt my head back?
No. Lean forward to let blood leave the nose rather than flow into the throat.
Can dry air cause repeated nosebleeds?
It can irritate and crack the nasal lining, but frequent bleeding should be assessed for other contributors.
