Does tonsillitis cause swollen glands?

The glands people feel are usually lymph nodes along the sides of the neck or under the jaw. They can become tender, enlarged, or sore when immune cells gather to respond to tonsil inflammation. The swelling may be more noticeable on the side closest to the inflamed tonsil and may remain tender for a short time as the throat settles.

Get prompt help for rapidly increasing swelling, severe one-sided throat pain, marked weakness, or signs of dehydration such as very little urine and dizziness.
