Can an ovarian endometrioma cause pain during sex?

An ovarian endometrioma is a cyst associated with endometriosis. It may sit near structures that move or are pressed during deeper penetration, causing aching, pulling, or sharper pain. Discomfort may vary with the menstrual cycle and can occur alongside painful periods, pelvic pain, or difficulty becoming comfortable during sex.
