Can iron supplementation help with pale skin?
Short answer
Iron supplementation may improve pale skin when iron deficiency is responsible, but paleness has other possible causes and needs assessment.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

Why iron may affect appearance
Iron deficiency can reduce haemoglobin, the pigment-containing protein inside red blood cells. This may make skin, the inside of the lower eyelids or the lining of the mouth look less coloured, especially when anaemia develops. Skin tone, lighting, cold exposure and circulation can also change how pale someone appears. A change in colour alone cannot confirm low iron or explain its cause.
What to do next
Book a clinical review if paleness is new, persistent or accompanied by tiredness, dizziness, cold hands, breathlessness or heavy menstrual bleeding. A clinician may examine you and request blood tests for anaemia and iron status. Do not use iron as a cosmetic treatment or take it without advice. If deficiency is found, treatment should also look for blood loss, limited dietary intake or difficulty absorbing iron.
When to seek urgent care
Seek urgent help if paleness appears suddenly with fainting, severe breathlessness, chest pain, confusion, a fast persistent heartbeat or substantial bleeding. Yellowing of the skin, blue lips or a cold painful limb also needs prompt assessment because these changes suggest a different or urgent problem.
Questions for your doctor
Ask whether your skin change could reflect anaemia, which tests are suitable, whether bleeding or absorption should be checked, and how progress will be judged after treatment begins.

Questions people ask
Will iron always restore skin colour?
No. It can help when iron deficiency caused the paleness, but another cause may need different treatment.
Can pale skin occur without anaemia?
Yes. Natural skin tone, circulation, cold, illness and other conditions can affect appearance.
