Does IPL photofacial treat post-inflammatory erythema?

Post-inflammatory erythema is a lingering red or pink mark left after acne, irritation, injury, or another inflammatory skin problem has settled. IPL targets light-sensitive components associated with visible redness. It is different from treating the original trigger: ongoing acne, eczema, infection, or irritation may need control before a light procedure is considered.

After IPL, protect the skin from sunlight and follow the clinic's instructions for gentle cleansing and moisturising.

Seek review if a mark is painful, hot, swollen, spreading, draining, or accompanied by new pustules or fever, as these features can suggest active inflammation or infection rather than a settled red mark. Tell the clinic promptly about blistering or severe discomfort after treatment.
