Does intertrigo cause itchy groin?

Intertrigo affects areas where skin touches skin, such as the groin, inner thighs, or folds around the genitals. Warmth, sweat, and rubbing can weaken the surface and cause redness, soreness, burning, or itching. Yeast or bacteria may sometimes grow in the irritated area and alter its appearance.
