Does gastrointestinal stromal tumour cause blood in stool?

The colour and appearance may give a clinician clues. Bright red blood can come from the lower bowel or rectum, while black, sticky stool can indicate bleeding higher in the digestive tract. A gastrointestinal stromal tumour may also cause abdominal discomfort, fullness, tiredness from blood loss, or a noticeable mass, although symptoms vary with its position and size.

Seek urgent medical help if bleeding is heavy or persistent, stool is black and tar-like, you feel faint or confused, you have severe abdominal pain, or you vomit blood. These signs can indicate significant bleeding and need prompt assessment.
