Does Botox treat crow's feet?

Crow's feet are lateral lines beside the eyes that often deepen when the circular muscle around the eye contracts during smiling or squinting. Botulinum toxin temporarily lowers activity in selected parts of that muscle, which can make movement-related lines less prominent.

Lines caused by sun-related texture, dryness, or changes that remain when the face is relaxed may not respond fully. Because injections are close to the eyes, precise placement and an assessment of eyelid position, facial symmetry, and medical history matter.

Tell the practitioner about previous eyelid or facial procedures, dry eye symptoms, drooping eyelids, vision concerns, medicines, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any neuromuscular condition. Ask which part of the outer-eye area will be treated and how natural smiling will be maintained.

Use only the aftercare provided by your clinician. Do not treat an active rash, infection, or unexplained swelling around the eye as a cosmetic concern until it has been assessed.

Get prompt medical advice after injections if you develop significant eyelid drooping, double vision, new vision changes, severe eye pain, spreading weakness, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or symptoms of a serious allergy. Sudden facial weakness also requires urgent assessment.
