Does aesthetic medicine perform a thread lift?

A thread lift uses temporary medical threads placed beneath the skin to provide a modest lifting effect and support local tissue. It is different from surgical facelift procedures, which remove or reposition tissue through incisions. The outcome depends on skin quality, the area treated, the amount of laxity, and the thread design.

A consultation should cover facial anatomy, asymmetry, previous procedures, dental or skin problems near the area, and the expected course of swelling, bruising, tightness, or tenderness. A thread lift cannot correct every degree of loose skin, and the clinician should explain alternatives when the expected change would be limited.
