This condition can begin around scalp hairs as tender pimples, deep bumps, crusts, or pus-filled areas. Seek urgent care if you develop fever, rapidly spreading redness, severe swelling, escalating pain, confusion, or marked weakness. These signs may indicate infection needing prompt assessment.
