Differin gel for wrinkles and dark spots: what to know

Adapalene is a topical retinoid mainly used for acne. By influencing skin-cell turnover, it may make fine surface texture look more even over time and help reduce new breakouts. It does not erase deeper lines or remove every cause of discoloration.

Dark patches can reflect melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, sun spots, or tinea versicolor. The appearance alone cannot establish the cause. If suitable for you, apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin in the evening according to clinical or product directions. Do not apply to eyelids, lips, cuts, sunburn, or freshly treated skin.
