What should you know about DHI FUE hair transplant?

FUE describes how individual follicular units are harvested, often with a small punch. DHI describes how prepared units are inserted into recipient areas. They refer to different parts of the procedure, so a consultation should explain exactly which harvesting and implantation tools will be used.

The plan depends on donor hair quality, the shape of the thinning area, scalp condition, and whether loss is still changing. Male pattern hair loss is one possible reason for a transplant, but the diagnosis and design should be individual rather than based on a label.

Ask for a scalp examination, a donor-area assessment, and a drawn hairline before agreeing to treatment. Share medical conditions, medicines, supplements, allergies, smoking or vaping habits, and any history of slow wound healing. Confirm who performs extraction, who places grafts, and how grafts are kept protected between stages.

After treatment, follow instructions for gentle washing, sleeping with the head raised if advised, avoiding friction, and limiting strenuous activity until cleared. Mild soreness, crusting, redness, and temporary shedding can occur during healing. Keep follow-up appointments so the clinician can check the scalp and discuss ongoing hair-loss care.

Call the clinic if discomfort increases, the scalp becomes increasingly hot or red, pus-like drainage appears, or you develop fever. Urgent assessment is needed for breathing difficulty, collapse, or rapidly progressing swelling.
