Dengue Fever commonly presents with a sudden fever and can include headache, pain behind the eyes, muscle aches, joint pain, chills, nausea, reduced appetite, rash, and marked fatigue. Symptoms vary, and the absence of one symptom does not rule out dengue.

The period around fever improvement still deserves attention. A person can seem less feverish while developing warning signs, so track how they are drinking, passing urine, breathing, and responding.

Follow the clinician's plan, rest, and take frequent fluids if you are able to drink. Check temperature and note vomiting, pain, bleeding, urine output, and alertness. Use only recommended fever relief; avoid aspirin and ibuprofen unless a clinician directs you to use them. Reduce mosquito exposure while unwell so mosquitoes are less likely to spread infection.

Seek emergency care for severe abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, bleeding, black stool, blood in vomit or urine, fainting, confusion, extreme drowsiness, breathing difficulty, cold clammy skin, or very little urine.
