What should you know about dengue last for how many days?

Short answer
Dengue symptoms often last several days, but the course varies and warning signs can appear as fever improves.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

How the illness may change
Dengue often begins with fever and may include headache, chills, muscle aches, joint pain, nausea or rash. The fever phase is followed by a period when fluids and circulation need closer attention, then gradual recovery for many people. The exact pattern differs between individuals, and the temperature alone does not show how serious the illness is.
A return of fever, worsening weakness, easy bruising, bleeding or reduced urination should not be dismissed as a normal end to the illness. Recovery can also leave tiredness for a while after the main symptoms settle.
Supporting recovery
Rest, drink small amounts often, and consider oral rehydration solution if you are losing fluid through sweating, vomiting or diarrhoea. Track temperature, drinking, urination, vomiting, pain and bleeding. Take medicines only as advised by a healthcare professional, since some pain medicines may increase bleeding risk.
Arrange medical assessment when dengue is possible, particularly after travel or mosquito exposure. Continue preventing mosquito bites while ill with repellent, screens and covered clothing.
Warning signs during the course
Seek urgent help for severe abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, bleeding from the nose or gums, blood in vomit or stool, confusion, unusual drowsiness, breathing difficulty, fainting, cold or clammy skin, or inability to drink. These symptoms can develop when the fever is settling.
Contact a clinician if symptoms are not improving, fever returns, or you are passing much less urine. People who are pregnant, very young, older, or living with significant medical conditions should seek advice early. In a UAE emergency, call 998.
Questions about recovery
Ask which day of illness you may be in, how long to continue fluid monitoring, when normal activity is reasonable, whether testing is needed, and which symptoms require same-day or emergency care.
