What should you know about dengue 6th day symptoms?

Dengue symptoms can change when fever falls. Headache, muscle aches, joint pain, chills, weakness or easy bruising may continue, but a person can also develop warning signs during this phase.

Watch for severe abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, bleeding, unusual drowsiness or restlessness, breathing difficulty, cold skin, faintness and reduced urine. The sixth day is not a reliable point for deciding that the illness has ended.

Contact a GP for advice about the illness and any planned testing or follow-up. Offer frequent fluids if the person can drink, encourage rest, and record urine output, temperature, alertness, pain, vomiting and bleeding.

Use medicines only as advised. Avoid aspirin and ibuprofen unless a clinician specifically recommends them, because dengue can involve bleeding. Prevent mosquito bites around the patient to reduce spread through further bites.

Seek urgent care now for bleeding, severe belly pain, persistent vomiting, fainting, confusion, trouble breathing, inability to drink, or very little urine. Immediate assessment is needed even if the fever has stopped.
