Compression after liposuction

Liposuction creates temporary swelling and tenderness in the areas where fat was removed. A garment applies even support over selected zones and can make movement feel more secure while the tissues recover. It does not remove additional fat, guarantee a particular contour, or substitute for follow-up. Swelling can be uneven, and the skin may feel numb or tight for a while. Follow the prescribed schedule and ask how to remove the garment for bathing, washing, wound checks, and sleep. Keep the fabric smooth, dry, and free from folded edges; never add extra layers or choose a smaller size without approval. Walk as instructed, avoid strenuous activity until cleared, and take medicines exactly as directed. Report a garment that slips, rubs an incision, limits breathing, or causes persistent numbness. Call the surgical team for increasing pain, rapidly expanding swelling, fever, spreading redness, pus, wound separation, or drainage that becomes foul-smelling. Obtain urgent help for chest pain, sudden breathlessness, fainting, coughing blood, or a painful swollen limb. Do not massage a concerning area or tightly reapply a garment while waiting for instructions.

Confirm which garment panels cover the treated zones, how tight they should feel, and what changes mean the garment needs adjustment. Ask when you may drive, exercise, sleep in different positions, return to work, and stop compression. Keep follow-up appointments so swelling and contour can be assessed.
