A garment can improve support and make swelling feel more controlled, but it does not determine how much transferred fat remains.

Wear the garment only according to the operating team’s schedule, and ask whether it should be removed for washing, bathing, sleep, or skin checks. Keep it smooth and dry, and use the recommended sitting or lying position so the buttocks are protected. Check the skin each time it comes off for blistering, marked redness, numbness, drainage, or a pressure groove. Do not size down to create extra compression. Follow the surgeon’s instructions about walking, sitting, wound care, and returning to normal clothing.

Contact the surgical team promptly for increasing one-sided swelling, worsening pain, spreading redness, fever, foul-smelling drainage, wound separation, or skin that becomes dusky, pale, cold, or numb. Seek urgent medical help for sudden chest pain, severe breathlessness, fainting, or coughing blood. A garment that causes persistent tingling, weakness, or difficulty breathing should be removed or loosened as instructed while you obtain medical advice.
