CO2 laser under-eye treatment

The skin below the eyes is thin and close to the eyelid, eye surface, and tear drainage structures. A clinician may use controlled laser energy to renew superficial skin and encourage collagen remodelling, but puffiness, hollows, deeper folds, or dark circles from blood vessels or shadowing may not improve with resurfacing alone.

Before treatment, disclose eye disease, dry-eye symptoms, contact lens use, previous eyelid surgery, cold sores, medicines, and a history of pigment change or raised scars. The clinician should examine the area and explain eye shielding and the planned treatment boundary.

Follow instructions about skin products, lenses, sun exposure, and medicines. Afterward, use only the prescribed cleanser, ointment, or dressing; do not rub the eyelids or remove flakes. Swelling, redness, watering, sensitivity, and temporary blurred vision from ointment can occur, but the clinic should explain what is expected and how to protect the treated skin.

Laser Skin Resurfacing and CO2 Laser Resurfacing are broader treatment categories. The exact approach around the eyes should be chosen for the eyelid anatomy and the concern being treated, not simply copied from treatment on another facial area.

Contact the treating clinician promptly for increasing eye pain, marked light sensitivity, worsening vision, severe swelling, pus, fever, or redness spreading around the eye. Seek urgent medical care for sudden vision loss, significant eye injury, or rapidly worsening facial swelling.

Ask which under-eye concern is being targeted, whether the eyelid itself will be treated, what eye protection is used, how long swelling may last, and who assesses vision symptoms. Ask whether a non-laser option or a different laser depth would be safer for your skin and anatomy.
