Ask for the surgeon’s name and qualifications, where the procedure occurs, who performs each stage, and how complications are handled. Review medicines, smoking, scalp conditions and previous procedures. Clarify whether travel, accommodation, follow-up and revision planning are included in the care pathway. Compare the proposed hairline with your own long-term pattern rather than judging only by immediate photographs.

After surgery, contact the clinical team for increasing swelling, severe pain, pus, fever, spreading redness or bleeding that does not settle with the advised measures. Seek urgent help for breathing difficulty, fainting or a severe allergic reaction. New smooth bald patches or sudden rapid shedding also deserve a dermatology assessment.
