What should you know about chin filler for a square face?

A square facial outline may come from jawbone width, strong chewing muscles, chin shape, soft tissue or a combination. Filler placed in the chin can extend the central lower-face contour and create a different transition from the lower lip to the chin. It does not reduce jaw width. Adding too much width or volume may make the lower face look fuller, which is why the injector should map the chin and jaw together before choosing placement.

Take reference photographs in neutral lighting and explain whether you want a longer profile, a more defined point or a softer transition. Ask for an assessment of your bite, chin position and jaw width, especially if you clench or grind your teeth. Discuss past filler, skin infection, allergies and medicines that increase bruising.
