Cherry angioma on black skin: what to know

Cherry angiomas are made of clustered small blood vessels. On richly pigmented skin, the contrast between the lesion and surrounding skin can be less obvious, and a vascular spot may appear darker than textbook descriptions suggest. A dermatologist considers more than colour: the lesion’s border, surface, firmness, symmetry, and evolution all matter. A photograph can help you notice change, but it cannot replace an examination of an unfamiliar dark spot.

Do not squeeze, cut, burn, or apply home acids to a suspected angioma. These actions can injure the skin and make assessment harder.
