Causes of small white pimples on the face

White-tipped bumps often contain oil and dead skin within a blocked pore, as in Acne. Similar-looking bumps can form when hair follicles become inflamed, including Folliculitis or Razor Bumps after shaving. A cluster around the mouth, nose, or eyes with burning, dryness, or irritation may fit Perioral Dermatitis. Rosacea can cause acne-like bumps alongside flushing, warmth, visible vessels, or eye irritation. Hormone-related changes may contribute to deeper or recurring spots, particularly around the lower face. Appearance alone cannot confirm the cause.

Cleanse with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free product, then use a non-comedogenic moisturiser. Avoid squeezing, scrubbing, picking, heavy occlusive makeup, and introducing several active products at once. If shaving seems related, use a clean sharp razor, shave with the grain, and avoid repeated passes. Take note of triggers such as new cosmetics, sweating, masks, or cycle-related changes. A dermatologist can match treatment to the pattern and protect against lingering marks.
