What should you know about carbon face peel treatment?

A clinician spreads a carbon-based lotion over clean skin. After it dries, a laser passes over the area to heat and remove the carbon, taking loosened oil and surface material with it. The device settings, number of passes, and whether the treatment is appropriate depend on your skin type and concern. You may feel warmth, snapping, or tingling. Redness and tightness can follow, while deeper irritation is less expected and should be reported. This treatment is cosmetic and does not replace care for persistent acne, infection, or a changing lesion.

Before an appointment, disclose recent tanning, photosensitivity, cold sores, eczema, medicines, and previous laser procedures. Arrive with clean skin and follow advice about pausing irritating products. For the first period after treatment, cleanse gently, moisturise, avoid picking or scrubbing, and protect the face from sun. Do not add acids, retinoids, waxing, or heat-based treatments until your clinician says the barrier has recovered.
