Botox for forehead wrinkles: what to know

Short answer
Botox can soften forehead wrinkles caused by repeated muscle movement, but it does not erase every line or treat sun-damaged skin.
This answers one question. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an assessment by a licensed doctor.

What forehead Botox changes
Botulinum toxin is injected into selected forehead muscles. By reducing their contraction, it can make movement-related lines look softer. Lines that remain visible when the face is relaxed may have additional causes, including changes in skin texture and sun exposure, so another approach may be discussed. A balanced plan considers the brow position, eyelids and nearby facial muscles rather than treating a line in isolation. See [Wrinkles](/symptoms/wrinkles/) and [Sun-Damaged Skin](/conditions/photoaging/) for related information.
Before and after treatment
During consultation, describe your usual expressions, previous injections, medicines and any eyelid or brow concerns. The clinician should review whether forehead treatment suits your facial anatomy and goals. Mild redness, tenderness, bruising or headache can follow injections. Avoid rubbing the area until you receive aftercare advice, and allow time for the result to settle before judging it. [Botox](/treatments/injectables/botulinum-toxin-injection/) differs from [Dermal Fillers](/treatments/injectables/dermal-fillers/), which add volume rather than reducing muscle movement.
When to contact a clinician
Ask for prompt review if swelling, pain, warmth or redness is increasing, or if the injection sites show discharge. Get urgent help for difficulty breathing or swallowing, widespread weakness, sudden vision symptoms, or a severe allergic reaction. A new drooping eyelid or brow should be reported to the treating clinician so it can be assessed and monitored.
Useful questions
Are my forehead lines mainly movement-related? How will you protect a natural brow shape? What changes should I expect while the treatment settles? What would address lines present at rest?

Questions people ask
Will forehead Botox remove all wrinkles?
No. It mainly softens lines linked to muscle movement; persistent texture or sun-related changes may need another plan.
Can forehead Botox change my eyebrows?
It can influence brow position, which is why injection placement should be tailored to your anatomy.
