Botox injections under the eyes: what to know

Lines at the outer corners of the eyes are often called crow's feet and become more visible when you smile or squint. Botox reduces selected muscle activity and may soften these movement lines. Injection close to the lower eyelid is a more specialised decision because the same area helps with eye closure and lid position.

Dark circles, hollows, puffiness, fine dry-skin lines, and loose skin have different causes. Botox does not add volume or change pigmentation. A consultation should distinguish these concerns before any injection plan is chosen.

Choose a qualified prescriber experienced with periocular anatomy. Explain dry eyes, vision problems, previous eye procedures, contact-lens use, medicines, allergies, and any facial weakness. Ask exactly where injections would be placed and what alternatives are available.

After treatment, follow the clinic's instructions and avoid pressing or massaging the area. Temporary redness, tenderness, bruising, headache, or a feeling of eye fatigue can occur. Arrange review if the result feels uneven or your eye comfort changes.

Contact the treating clinic promptly for new difficulty closing an eye, marked dryness, lower-lid pulling, double vision, worsening swelling, or a change in vision. Seek urgent help for severe eye pain, breathing difficulty, swallowing difficulty, or weakness spreading beyond the treated area.

Ask whether your concern is crow's feet, hollowing, puffiness, or skin texture; which muscle would be treated; and how eye closure will be protected. Discuss whether dermal fillers or a skin-focused plan would better match the problem.
