Botox for a furrowed brow

A brow can look furrowed when the muscles between and above the eyebrows contract during concentration, worry, squinting, or other expressions. Repeated folding may leave lines that remain after the expression stops. Skin dryness, sun exposure, and reduced elasticity can add to the appearance.

Botulinum toxin type A reduces the nerve signal to selected muscles, allowing them to contract less strongly. This can soften movement-related creases. It does not fill a hollow, replace skin support, or correct every line at rest, and the brow still needs enough balanced movement for a natural result.

A qualified medical injector should watch your brow at rest and during expression, assess eyelids and forehead, and review medicines, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, previous injections, and neuromuscular conditions. Explain whether your priority is a smoother brow, preserved expression, or both.

Treatment generally uses a series of small injections after the skin is cleansed and the sites are marked. Tenderness, redness, swelling, bruising, or headache may occur. Avoid rubbing the treated area and follow the clinic’s instructions. A follow-up examination can identify unwanted heaviness or asymmetry.

Contact the clinic promptly for pronounced brow or eyelid drooping, new double vision, inability to close an eye, severe pain, or increasing facial asymmetry. Seek urgent help for difficulty breathing or swallowing, widespread weakness, or sudden vision changes.

Ask which muscles create your furrow, how brow and eyelid position will be protected, what movement you should retain, and when the result will be reviewed. Ask whether a skin treatment or dermal filler would address lines that are not mainly caused by contraction.
