What should you know about Botox for face wrinkles?

Botulinum toxin temporarily reduces signals from selected nerves to facial muscles. As those muscles move less, dynamic lines such as forehead lines or lines between the brows may look softer. Crow's Feet are lines at the outer corners of the eyes and may be treated when the clinician considers the pattern suitable.

Wrinkles can also reflect sun exposure, reduced skin support, dryness, or natural ageing. Sun-Damaged Skin may have changes in colour and texture that Botox does not reverse. A consultation helps separate movement lines from concerns better suited to skin care, resurfacing, or another procedure.

Bring a list of medicines, supplements, allergies, previous injections, and any history of eyelid or facial weakness. Ask the injector which muscles will be treated and how your expression should be preserved. Afterward, follow the clinic's instructions and avoid rubbing the injection sites. Results develop gradually and wear off, so maintenance decisions should be made after observing your response.

Contact the treating clinician for worsening asymmetry, significant eyelid or brow drooping, unusual pain, or signs of infection such as spreading redness, warmth, or discharge. Get urgent help for trouble breathing or swallowing, severe weakness, or sudden vision changes.
