What DAO refers to

DAO means depressor anguli oris, a muscle at each side of the mouth that can pull the corners downward. A clinician may consider a small, carefully placed botulinum toxin injection when muscle activity contributes to a downturned appearance. Facial anatomy varies, so the treatment is not a routine template.

The effect is limited to muscle activity. It cannot replace skin care, correct every type of wrinkle, or restore volume.
