Bonine for vertigo: what should you know?

Bonine is an antihistamine medicine commonly used for motion-related nausea and dizziness. Vertigo is a spinning or moving sensation, and its trigger may come from the inner ear, migraine, or another problem. Medicines that dampen balance signals can make symptoms less noticeable without correcting the underlying cause. Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo often responds better to a repositioning treatment such as the Epley Manoeuvre. Vertigo with hearing changes, ear pressure, or headache may need a different assessment.

Use Bonine only as directed on its label or by a clinician, and check the active ingredient before combining it with another antihistamine or sedating medicine. Do not drive, cycle, or operate machinery until you know how it affects you. Alcohol can add to drowsiness. Sit or lie down when an episode starts, rise slowly, and keep water nearby if nausea is present.
