After Liposuction, treated areas can be swollen, tender, and uneven while fluid shifts and tissues heal. A prescribed garment applies even support and may make movement feel more secure; it does not remove remaining fat or determine the final contour. Too much pressure can cause rubbing, numbness, colour change, or impaired circulation. A garment should feel supportive rather than sharply painful, and it should not cut into the waist, groin, underarms, or wound areas.

Wear the garment for the periods your surgical team specifies, and ask before changing the schedule or sleeping in it. Check the skin during clothing changes for pressure marks, blisters, drainage, or new numbness. Keep incisions and dressings cared for as directed, and wash the garment so it remains clean and dry. Move gently, avoid extra-tight shapewear, and attend follow-up visits. Other contouring options, such as Cryolipolysis or Radiofrequency Skin Tightening, should not be considered during recovery without the surgeon’s clearance.

Call the surgical team for worsening pain, increasing one-sided swelling, persistent numbness, skin that becomes pale or dusky, wound separation, drainage, or a garment that cannot be tolerated. Seek urgent care for chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, or sudden severe swelling. Do not wait for a routine visit when symptoms are rapidly worsening.
