Continue the agreed exercise programme at a manageable level. Physiotherapy may focus on spinal and hip mobility, posture, breathing expansion, strength, and ways to stay active without provoking a sustained symptom flare.

Report fever, chills, persistent cough, breathlessness, painful urination, shingles-like blisters, spreading redness, or a wound that is not healing. Prompt advice is also appropriate after close exposure to a serious contagious infection.

Call emergency services for trouble breathing, facial or throat swelling, collapse, or a severe rapidly spreading reaction following treatment. Sudden eye pain, eye redness with light sensitivity, or a major vision change needs urgent eye assessment because inflammatory eye problems can accompany ankylosing spondylitis.

Ask why a particular biologic suits your disease pattern, when its effect will be reviewed, which tests are required, and how to handle travel or missed doses. Clarify the plan for exercise, vaccinations, infections, surgery, and contact with the rheumatology service.
