Bimekizumab is an antibody medicine that blocks specific immune messenger proteins involved in inflammation. Reducing this signalling can ease spinal pain and stiffness and improve movement, but the response varies and the medicine does not reverse established joint or spinal changes.

Contact the prescribing team promptly for fever, a persistent cough, painful urination, spreading skin redness, mouth soreness with white patches, or other signs of infection. They can advise whether an upcoming dose should be delayed; do not make that decision without clinical advice unless emergency instructions say otherwise.

Seek emergency help for difficulty breathing or swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat after an injection. New persistent diarrhoea, abdominal pain or blood in the stool also needs timely medical review.
