Before and after mesotherapy

The name describes a technique rather than one standard formula. Before-and-after expectations should therefore be tied to the injected ingredients, treatment area and intended concern, not to generic photographs from a different protocol.

Mesotherapy places small injections into superficial tissue. Clinics may use different combinations, depths and devices, so the likely effect and side-effect profile depend on exactly what is administered.

A fair comparison uses the same facial expression, lighting, camera distance and skin preparation. Immediate plumping can partly reflect swelling, whereas any intended change should be judged after that reaction settles. Skin texture, hydration, pigmentation and scarring are separate concerns and may not respond in the same way.

Before treatment, ask for the product name, ingredients, intended benefit and the clinician's credentials. Disclose allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, immune problems, bleeding tendencies, active skin infection and all medicines or supplements. Avoid an injection if the product identity or sterility cannot be explained.

Keep the area clean, leave bumps and injection points alone and use only the skincare advised by the clinic. Follow specific guidance about makeup, exercise, heat, sun and massage because it can vary with the formulation and treatment site.

Get urgent medical help for difficulty breathing, throat tightness, faintness or rapidly increasing facial swelling. Contact the treating clinician promptly if pain is severe or worsening, redness spreads, skin becomes unusually pale or dusky, blisters develop, or there is pus, fever, marked warmth or a persistent lump.

Bruising and local tenderness can follow needle punctures, but a reaction that intensifies rather than settles should not be covered with more products or treated by squeezing the area.

Ask whether the proposed formulation is suitable for your specific concern, what visible change is realistic, how progress will be photographed and what alternatives have a clearer role. Confirm who will manage a delayed reaction and which ingredient information you can take home.
