Some services may use superficial injections, while others combine needling with a tinted serum. The advertised name alone cannot tell you what enters the skin or whether that product is intended for that route.

Mesotherapy generally refers to multiple small injections into superficial skin. Clinics may promote mixtures containing moisturising or other cosmetic ingredients, but formulas are not interchangeable. Adding the term BB glow may imply tint or brightening rather than a defined medical formulation.

Expected short-term changes can include redness, swelling, tenderness and small bruises. Infection, allergy, nodules, prolonged inflammation and uneven pigment are concerning possibilities when technique, sterility or product selection is poor.

Ask to see the sealed product and record its name, ingredients, batch details and intended administration route. Confirm that a licensed medical professional will prescribe or perform injections, use sterile single-use equipment and take a history of allergies, medicines, cold sores, scarring and active skin disease.

Postpone treatment over infected, inflamed or broken skin. Follow the clinician's written aftercare, keep hands away from injection points, use gentle products and avoid adding strong acids or retinoids while the skin remains sensitive.

Call the clinic promptly for worsening pain, expanding redness, warmth, pus, blistering, hard enlarging lumps, patchy discolouration or fever. Take the product record with you so the assessing clinician knows what was administered.

Sudden facial or throat swelling, wheezing, breathing difficulty, faintness or a widespread rapidly developing rash requires emergency care.

Ask what visible concern the procedure targets, whether the result comes from hydration or pigment, how long the material is expected to remain, what alternatives suit your skin, and who will manage a delayed reaction.
