Aptos thread lift: procedure, limits, and safety

The procedure is performed through small entry points, usually with local anaesthetic. It may suit selected people with mild tissue descent who accept that the change is subtler and less predictable than surgical lifting.

Aptos describes a family of lifting threads rather than one identical procedure. The clinician selects a thread design and pathway for the treatment area. Barbs or similar surface features engage tissue so it can be repositioned; healing around the thread may add support.

A thread lift does not remove loose skin or reshape deeper facial structures in the same way as a facelift. Thread material, placement pattern, facial anatomy, skin quality, and the amount of sagging all affect the visible result and the chance of irregularity.

Choose a licensed clinician experienced in facial anatomy and the specific thread system. At consultation, disclose medicines, supplements, bleeding problems, previous fillers or threads, facial surgery, active skin disease, and any tendency to thick scars. Ask to see the sealed product and understand whether its material is absorbable.

Swelling, bruising, tenderness, dimpling, and a tight or pulling sensation may occur early. Follow the clinic's instructions for cleansing, sleeping position, facial movement, exercise, and returning to skin treatments. Avoid pressing or massaging the area unless the treating clinician specifically directs it.

Contact the treating clinic promptly if pain or swelling is worsening rather than settling, the skin becomes hot or increasingly red, discharge appears, a thread becomes visible, facial movement changes, or marked asymmetry develops. These findings can reflect infection, thread exposure, tissue irritation, or displacement.

Seek urgent medical attention for trouble breathing, facial swelling suggesting a severe allergic reaction, sudden visual disturbance, or severe eye pain. Do not try to cut, pull, or push back an exposed thread yourself.

Ask which thread will be used, where it will travel, what degree of change is realistic for your anatomy, and how the clinician manages puckering, infection, asymmetry, or an exposed thread. Compare the likely improvement and recovery with energy-based lifting and surgery before deciding.
