Arrange prompt review for a new persistent lump near the scar or in the neck, armpit or groin, a changing skin lesion, or unexplained symptoms that continue. Reporting a symptom enables assessment; it does not establish that melanoma has returned or spread.

Seek emergency help for sudden one-sided weakness, a seizure, confusion, severe breathing difficulty or coughing blood. These are urgent symptoms whatever their eventual cause and should not wait for a routine oncology appointment.
