Six days after a five-day embryo transfer

Mild cramping, bloating, breast tenderness, tiredness or light spotting can occur, but fertility medicines can cause similar sensations. Feeling completely normal is also possible. Follow the test date given by your clinic because testing too early can produce a misleading result.

At this stage, the embryo may have attached to the womb lining, but bodily sensations do not reveal the outcome. Progesterone support commonly affects the breasts, abdomen, bowels, mood and energy, which makes symptom-checking especially unreliable.

A home test detects pregnancy hormone rather than implantation itself. A trigger injection containing pregnancy hormone may remain detectable for a while, while a developing pregnancy may not yet produce enough hormone for an early urine test.

Continue every prescribed medicine at the scheduled dose, even if you spot or take an early test. Do not stop progesterone unless the fertility team tells you to. Use ordinary gentle activity unless your clinic gave different restrictions, and avoid starting supplements or medicines without checking that they are suitable.

Take the clinic-planned urine or blood test on the specified day and follow its instructions about timing. If a dose is missed, contact the clinic or pharmacist for advice rather than doubling it on your own.

Call the fertility clinic for bleeding like a period, increasing pelvic pain, repeated vomiting, marked abdominal swelling, reduced urination, or any concern about your medicines. The team can decide whether examination, blood testing or ultrasound is appropriate.

Seek urgent medical care for severe or one-sided abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, fainting, shoulder-tip pain, chest pain or difficulty breathing. These warning signs require assessment regardless of an early home-test result.

Confirm the exact testing day, which medicines continue after the result, and whom to call outside clinic hours. Ask what to do after a missed progesterone dose and which level of bleeding or pain should prompt a same-day review.
