What should you know about Zejula and ovarian cancer?

Zejula belongs to a group of medicines called PARP inhibitors. It interferes with pathways cancer cells use to repair certain types of DNA damage. The aim of maintenance treatment is to help hold ovarian cancer in check after chemotherapy has reduced or controlled it; it is not a replacement for every form of surgery or chemotherapy.

Blood tests are used to monitor platelets, red cells, and white cells, especially early in treatment; blood pressure may also be checked.

Tell the team about medicines, supplements, pregnancy plans, breastfeeding, bleeding, bruising, breathlessness, or unusual tiredness. Treatment plans can include dose changes or a pause when side effects or blood-test changes need attention.
