Why is a PRP centrifuge kit used in a PRP facial?

A small blood sample is collected into a compatible tube and processed in a centrifuge. Spinning separates the sample into layers with different densities, allowing the clinician to identify and draw the platelet-rich portion for the planned procedure. This preparation keeps the patient’s own blood product available for application or injection after the sample has been handled. The kit may standardise collection and separation steps, but the final composition can vary with the equipment, protocol, and sample.

Ask who will collect and process the sample, what the prepared plasma will be used for, and whether the treatment includes microneedling, injections, or another technique. Tell the clinician about medicines that affect bleeding, blood disorders, infection, active acne or eczema, and any tendency to faint during blood collection. Follow instructions about cleansing, sun exposure, and products applied after treatment. Mild redness, swelling, tenderness, or pinpoint bleeding can occur depending on the technique.

Contact the clinic if redness, swelling, warmth, pain, or drainage is increasing instead of settling, or if you develop fever. Seek urgent care for breathing difficulty, facial swelling that progresses quickly, fainting that does not resolve, or severe eye symptoms. A reaction after the facial or a problem at the blood-draw site should be assessed by a healthcare professional.

Ask how the sample will be processed, how the plasma will be applied, what improvement can reasonably be expected, and how many visits may be considered. Confirm sterile handling, the clinician’s experience, aftercare, and which symptoms should prompt a call.
