The clinician may use pelvic imaging to map the fibroids and assess the uterine cavity, while also reviewing ovulation, fallopian tubes, sperm factors, and other contributors. Treatment depends on symptoms, location, pregnancy plans, and prior care.

Seek prompt care for bleeding that leaves you weak or dizzy, rapidly worsening pelvic pain or pressure, difficulty emptying the bladder, or a new rapidly enlarging abdomen. Seek urgent help for severe pain, fainting, or heavy bleeding with possible pregnancy. Mention anemia symptoms such as unusual tiredness or shortness of breath.
