When should you worry about skin bumps if you have syringoma?

Syringomas are small, firm, flesh-coloured or slightly yellowish bumps caused by growths related to sweat-gland ducts. They commonly occur in clusters around the lower eyelids, although other areas can be involved. They are usually stable and do not behave like an inflamed spot. Because several eyelid and facial conditions can look similar, an examination is useful when the diagnosis has not been confirmed.

Cleanse gently and avoid picking, squeezing, or repeatedly rubbing the bumps. Take care with products used close to the eyes, and stop any product that causes stinging or swelling. If the appearance bothers you, ask a dermatologist about options and the possibility of temporary redness, pigment change, scarring, or recurrence before choosing treatment.

Arrange a review if one bump enlarges while the others remain unchanged, develops a sore, crust, bleeding, marked colour change, or persistent tenderness, or if new lesions appear in an unusual pattern. Seek prompt eye care for eyelid swelling, eye pain, discharge, or vision changes. Sudden facial swelling or breathing difficulty needs urgent attention.
