Specialists assess imaging, biopsy information, nutrition, jaundice, heart and lung health, and whether cancer has spread beyond an operable area. Treatment before surgery may be discussed to test how the disease responds and improve the chance of proceeding safely.

Ask for review by a multidisciplinary pancreatic cancer team. Bring scan reports and a full medicine list, and report weight loss, jaundice, pain, diabetes or poor appetite.
